Google Acquires API Platform for Digital Businesses

Apigee, the API platform for digital businesses, tasked PR with building its brand, supporting its launches, and broadening its thought leadership position.

PR designed a multi-tiered program that pursued CEO-focused coverage; business media; developer press, industry analysts; and key verticals. PR worked with customers such as Walgreens to educate business media about how APIs can grow a company’s bottom line. PR packaged their offering with a case study from ATT to ensure higher-tier coverage along with analyst commentary. To broaden Apigee’s leadership positioning, PR pitched “The Apigee Institute” to position the company as the leader in APIs.

Coverage included The Wall Street Journal, TechCrunch, Forbes, Fortune, VentureBeat, The Register, Mashable, Network World, CIO, TechTarget, ITBusiness Edge, InformationWeek, InfoWorld, Dow Jones and FierceMobileContent. Google acquired Apigee in a deal worth $625 million.
