Bospar B.O.M.B.—What’s That, You Ask? Let April’s ‘Da Bomb’ Nina Poulaki Tell You

April 27, 2022

Congratulations to Bospar’s Assistant Account Executive Nina Poulaki, voted by her peers as April’s “Bospartan of the Month, Baby” (B.O.M.B.). Our Greek tech PR goddess tells us in her own words what it takes to achieve B.O.M.B. status at Bospar. In addition, to honor those that influenced her career path, Nina also pays a special tribute to her godmother, who helped her family learn the language and culture when they came to the U.S. from Greece. This sweet gesture, combined with her can-do attitude, makes Bospar proud to call Nina our April B.O.M.B.

What industries/technologies are you most excited about?

While things are constantly moving and changing within the industries I work in, cloud migration, metaverse systems and satellite broadband connectivity are technologies that excite me. Working in such fast-paced sectors has allowed me to explore the implications these technologies have on regional and global levels.

Tell us about a recent win on behalf of a Bospar client.

A win that stands out thus far was our announcement of a funding round for Classiq Technologies. Our team secured over 30 pieces of coverage, including top-tier placements, and Classiq was even featured on the NASDAQ Tower! While there are countless noteworthy moments of small successes I can think of, I believe this moment stood out in my mind because it happened during my first weeks here at Bospar, and I was able to see each step of the process come to fruition. Furthermore, witnessing how my team was able to collaborate and execute such a successful initiative confirmed that this was the right place for me to be.

What was your dream job when you were a child?

I grew up wanting to be either a vet or a dentist. Once I started college, I found that my passions lie in communications and having the ability to create work that would both challenge me and allow me to impact the cultures of the organizations I work in.

Who is your professional role model, and why?

My professional role model is my godmother. She was the first person who reached out to our family when we moved here from Greece. She made sure that we had all the tools necessary to learn English and acclimate to the local culture. Most importantly, she was a source of emotional support during an uncertain time in our lives. On a professional level, I admire her ability to balance being a successful doctor while also being passionate about philanthropy and influencing the communities around her. Through her, I’ve seen firsthand what hard work and dedication look like and how—no matter what I pursue in life—giving it 100% is the only way to grow and challenge myself.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

The best piece of advice I’ve received came from my mom on my first day of college. As she loves quoting ancient Greek philosophers, she emphasized what Aristotle said: “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” I aim to remain true to this and honestly believe that repetition is the key to mastering any challenge I come across.

When you’re not working, where might we find you?

When I’m not working, I love spending time with friends on the beach, trying any new restaurant, or taking my dogs on hikes. Since living back in the South, I’ve also taken up pickleball and hope to win against my parents one day!
