SAN FRANCISCO October 25, 2022 — Bospar, the innovative, “politely pushy” tech PR and marketing firm helping clients achieve success, announced today its inclusion in Fast Company’s “Brands that Matter” list for its Bospar Stands Up initiative. This list honors brands that communicate and demonstrate brand purpose and achieve relevance through cultural impact and social engagement.  Bospar Stands Up is the company’s human rights and social justice initiative dedicated to the rights of women and the LGBTQIA+ community.

The final list, which includes large multinational conglomerates, small-but-mighty companies and nonprofits, recognizes 144 brands that give people compelling reasons to care about them—and offer inspiration for others to buy in. All 144 have found an ability to forge an emotional connection with customers, whether leading on the environment or pop culture, engaging B2B customers or responding meaningfully to current events.

All brands that applied were considered for overall recognition. Additionally, there are also honorees on category-specific lists based on region, size and status.

“This year, we’ve expanded the Brands That Matter program to evaluate honorees in the context of how they matter within the category in which they compete for people’s attention or loyalty. The result is a wide-ranging list of honorees that are making their mark on culture and through social impact,” said Brendan Vaughan, Fast Company editor-in-chief.

“We are honored to be named to Fast Company’s ‘Brands that Matter’ awards list. At Bospar, we align ourselves with those working to make our world a better place in which to live and are dedicated to publicly standing up for human rights and social justice,” said Curtis Sparrer, a co-founder and principal of Bospar. “Mission-led companies are focused on doing good. It’s that purpose-driven commitment we look for in Bospatans. We believe this commitment leads to stronger teams that stay together and perform better. It’s a win-win, and we hope more companies adopt that approach in the future.”

Through Bospar Stands Up, the company financially backs up its commitments to fighting for women’s reproductive rights and civil liberties for the LGBTQIA+ community. The agency will cover moving expenses up to $10,000 for any employee who wants to relocate out of a state with anti-abortion laws. The agency also launched We Say Gay and offers a $20,000 grant to assist educators fighting against Florida’s Parental Rights in Education legislation. The campaign’s ripple effect for the grant included a retweet from actor and activist George Takei to his 3.4 million followers.

Bospar’s culture has also resulted in financial success. The agency’s revenue increased from $11 million in 2021 to more than $18 million in 2022. Bospar was included on the Inc. 5000 for achieving 165% three-year revenue growth.

Fast Company editors judged each brand on relevancy, cultural impact, ingenuity and business impact to compile the list. Click here to see the complete list. The November issue of Fast Company magazine is available online now and will be on newsstands beginning November 1, 2022.
